Suzanne Scott
TIP Trauma Informed Parenting was born through the determination and persistence of Suzanne Scott, founder and trainer. While she and her husband were providing foster care, they became aware of a need that was not being met in some of the children coming through their home. While searching for a way to help support them Suzanne was introduced to the “Stress Model” and never looked back. She has continued to build on that knowledge with experience working through its implementation and seeing the positive results it brought to the children in her care, also recognising and acknowledging her own past trauma.
When the time came for the Scott family to step back from fostering Suzanne realised that she did not want everything that she had learned to go to waste, and looked for a way to share this knowledge to help other parents and carers, and so the idea of Trauma Informed Parenting was born.
Countless voluntary hours have been spent by Suzanne, learning new skills and exploring every avenue, fighting to make the charity a reality. She fights through personal struggles with dyslexia to fill in funding forms, and keep in contact to offer support where it is needed. TIP has, since its inception, already helped so many families and children and will go on to help so many more.
As a Board of Trustees, we are immensely proud of everything Suzanne has achieved and look forward to supporting her through the years to come.
